Since 1983, the lives of over 1200 men, women and children from the age of 8 to 84, have been enriched by the services of specially trained Dog Guides from Lions Foundation of Canada.
The Dog Guide "handlers" from as far east as St John's, Newfoundland, and as far west as Victoria BC., have experienced the enrichment of their lives through newfound freedom and independence with the companionship and assistance of a devoted Dog Guide partner.
Lions Foundation of Canada invites you to become an active supporter and participant in this hands-on humanitarian service.
"I appeal to you Lions, you who have your sight; your hearing; you who are strong, brave and kind. Will you not constitute yourselves Knights of the Blind in this crusade against darkness?"
From Helen Keller's Address to Lions, 1925 International Convention
For many years the Thornton Lions have supported The Lions Foundation of Canada. Our recent Chili Challenge was a great success and funds raised that day will help the Guide Dogs of Canada.
